Now I’m going to be honest here. I’m not athletic, nor do I really ever WANT to work out. But, that doesn’t mean that I don’t often enjoy it. Working out for me is not only good for keeping off the extra weight, but it’s my favorite way to destress. Usually the hardest part for me is actually getting myself motivated enough to go to a class. But, I’ve found that when I really truly enjoy a class, I’m more likely to sign up and go again. Here are three of my favorite workout classes in LA.
Flywheel. My. Absolute. Favorite. It’s actually scary how obsessed I’ve become with Flywheel. I’ve taken spin class at various other studios in both NYC and here in LA, but nothing compares to Flywheel. All the instructors are great (shoutout to Graham, who’s my absolute favorite!), the music is always on point and the stadium seating helps you not feel claustrophobic. My favorite part is when you sign up for their app, after each class you can track how many miles you went, how many calories burned and more!
For those of you who like dancing, Swerve Studio is the place for you. My favorite classes are Yoga Booty Ballet and Sexy Fit, both taught by Patty. Both classes incorporate cardio dancing as well as weights and toning exercises. Trust me, you’ll be sore the next day.
For a bit of a calmer exercise, I love hot yoga at Earth’s Power Yoga. This was the first hot yoga class I had ever taken and I can see why people find it addicting. This was also the first yoga class I had ever taken that actually felt like a workout, and in a good way. Not only will you leave class drenched in sweat, but you will also leave relaxed as if you’re floating on a cloud.
All of these classes are available individually through their own studios, or you can sign up for ClassPass and for $99 a month get unlimited access to all of these studios as well as many more! For more information on ClassPass click here.
