Sephora VIB Sale!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

It’s that time again! The Sephora VIB Sale is in full swing. If you’re a beauty junkie like me, the VIB sale is super exciting. I was lucky enough to shop a little earlier through the Sephora Friends and Family Sale (thank you Jackie!). Here are some items I picked up, and my first impressions.

1. Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil – I’ve used Josie Maran’s argan oil before and LOVE that stuff. I was in need of a new cleanser so I decided to try this one out. I’ve used it a couple times and it does an AMAZING job of breaking down makeup.

2. Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Beauty on the Go Set – I got this because I wanted to try out the Bum Bum Cream. OMG. It smells like heaven. I’m in love. Also the lip butter is great for daily use.

3. Urban Decay All Nighter Spray – Shout out to my friend Amy for recommending this to me. This really does a good job in helping your makeup last. I hate the scent of it, but it does work.

4. Bite Beauty Multistick in Blondie – I got this because a YouTuber I watch said it was amazing. Unfortunately the color is too light and washes out my face. I’m definitely going to return this.

5. Anastasia Brow Primer – Another recommendation from Amy! This stuff is great. It’s a wax that you can put on before or after filling in your eyebrows. This will definitely be a holy grail item for me.

6. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer – This stuff is GOLD. For real, it’s one of the best under eye concealers I’ve ever used. The shade is perfect for my skin tone, also a little really goes a long way.

7. Hourglass Vanish Foundation – I’ve never tried a stick foundation before but I really love this one. It really does vanish into the skin. I’m thinking about doing a review post on this, if you’re interested let me know in the comments!

8. Tarte Lip Facial Lip Scrub – I’ve been meaning to get a new lip scrub, and I love that this comes in a stick vs. a pot. So far, I’m loving it.

These are all the goodies I recently got from Sephora. If you get any from the sale, or want me to review any of these let me know in the comments below!

Kylie Cosmetics Creme Shadow + GIVEAWAY!

Kylie Cosmetics

Kylie Jenner launched a limited Birthday Edition collection of items a couple weeks ago. I had my eyes on the Creme Shadows. These creme shadows come in Copper and Rose Gold. I was a little skeptical because creme shadows can be a hit or miss. Will they crease? Will they have good color pay off? Will they last all day? When I opened these up, I was very pleasantly surprised. The pigmentation on these shadows are UNREAL. Seriously, a little goes a very long way. Also, they stay on the eyes all. day. long. Below are swatches of the two shades, Copper on the bottom and Rose Gold on top.

2

As you can see these metallic shadows really pop. They are also waterproof. I tried washing off the swatches with water and soap and they would not budge. I had to scrub it off with some makeup remover wipes. I was really nervous about how these would wear all day. However, on the eyes these look amazing and last all day without creasing. The Copper is a little more orange based, while the Rose Gold is more pink. Both of these shades are extremely beautiful. I’ve worn both of these shadows all over the lid, adding a little brown in the crease for the perfect day look. I can’t wait for Kylie to release more creme shadows because these are seriously the bomb.com.

Lucky for you guys, I picked up an extra one of each color! I will be giving away one of the creme shadows to you guys! All you have to do is subscribe to my newsletter and Instagram using the giveaway widget below! One winner will get to choose the creme shadow of their choice! Good luck!

Kylie Cosmetics – KyShadow Review

Kyshadow

In the second launch of Kyshadows, I was able to snag my hands on one of Kylie’s brand new eye shadow palettes. I don’t know what it is about Kylie Cosmetics but I get suckered into it every time. It’s almost like a game to me to try to get my hands on a new item before it sells out, a very expensive game. So since this is a new palette that has yet to be restocked, I wanted to do a review for you guys so you can decide whether or not you should get it the next time it goes live (I believe sometime next week!).

3

Packaging: The packaging is a nice glossy white cardboard square. I love the size of it. It’s smaller than the Naked Palette which is always my go-to. This will be perfect for traveling because it’s so thin and lightweight. Also, the eyes with the drops of color is Kylie’s signature design which I love.

swatch

Colors: The colors are great. I love a more natural look, especially in the bronze family. The colors range from light to dark so you can use the first couple of colors to make a very subtle daytime look, or amp it up and use the darker colors for night. The most unique color in the palette is Citrine. It’s a lot more orange than any other eye shadow I have. My favorites are Quartz, Topaz and Goldstone.

Quality: The quality on these shadows are good. The pigmentation as you can see above is great. They’re also very velvety soft and blend really nicely. Hematite is the only one that comes off a little patchy. The powders do fall out of the pan in the palette a lot, but I find this happens with a lot of eye shadows so it does not bother me. Just be sure to tap out any excess powder on your brush before applying to reduce fallout.

1

Kylie posted a snapchat video of her using her new palette so I decided to recreate her look. I snapped some quick photos outside so you can see what they look like in natural lighting.

2

Overall Thoughts: I really like this palette. It reminds me a lot of the original Naked Palette by Urban Decay. If you have the Naked Palettes already you can probably pass on getting this because they have a lot of similar shades. However, if you are looking for a new bronze palette I highly recommend this one. This palette racks in at $42, which is pricey for makeup. However if you break down the cost, you’re really get 9 shadows for under $5 per shadow. There are definitely lower end alternatives to this palette, but if you’re okay with the price it’s a pretty palette to have. I will definitely be taking this on my vacations over the Naked Palette now since it is less bulky. Also, if you’re obsessed with Kylie and her makeup line (like me) definitely get it.

Have you guys tried Kyshadows yet? If so, let me know what you think in the comments below!

Hair Essentials

hair

Keeping up with my last hair post, I thought I would put together my hair essentials. Now I’m not really a big hair junkie. When it comes to my hair, I’m pretty lazy about it. I can’t even tell you the last time I got a hair cut. That being said, this is the lazy-girl’s guide to hair.

one // Gold Mine by DryBar – I dye my hair fairly often. That being said, I need some extra conditioning. I love this stuff because it has gold shimmer in the conditioner. Since I normally have blonde highlights, the shimmer in this really helps to make the blonde pop. And it smells great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with blonde in their hair.

two // 1907 Zero7 Air Lightweight Dryer by Fromm Beauty – This hair dryer is AMAZING. It’s the best hair dryer I have ever used. It really helps to cut down on drying time. I hate blow drying my hair just because it usually takes a long time. This dryer cuts down that time in half. My roommate has used this as well and is obsessed. She also stated that she’s never found a hair dryer that works as quickly as this does. Not only does it help with drying time, but I’ve found this to be the only dryer that doesn’t make my hair feel completely dry and damaged after. Hands down, the best blow dryer ever.

three // Clean Freak by Not Your Mothers – Okay, let’s be honest here. We all have those days where we just don’t have time to wash our hair, or are too lazy too. Normally I wash my hair everyday since it gets super oily, however on the occasion that I just don’t feel like it, I use this stuff. It does a great job of getting rid of the oil in your hair and the white cast blends pretty well in dark hair.

four // Beach Babe by Not Your Mothers – Another Not Your Mother’s product. They have some great items, at a great price! This stuff is my GO-TO for lazy days. After showering, if you don’t want to style your hair, just spritz some of this in damp hair. It gives great texture with that beachy wave look. Not to mention, this stuff smells AMAZING.

five // Hair Spray by Tresemme –  As far as drug stores go, I think Tresemme is one of my favorite hair care brands. It’s super affordable and works great. I love their hairspray. It really holds a curl all night and into the next day, but it doesn’t leave your hair feeling crunchy at all. Hair spray is one of those things where I don’t really understand when people pay $$$$ for it. There are great drugstore brands like Tresemme that work like magic as well.

six // Hair Ties by Sephora – Okay. Is it just me or do you guys lose hair ties on a daily basis. I swear I go from having 100 to about 4 in a matter of days. I love hair ties like these. Not only are they fun and colorful, but they really help on not snagging on your hair.

seven // Hair Extensions by Irresistible Me – If you haven’t seen my last post, I show you how incredible these hair extensions are. I’m actually obsessed with them. If you’re looking for extensions, go check out Irresistible Me. The quality and quantity are both great.

eight // The Wet Brush – This has been a hair essential for me for years. It’s the perfect hair brush to brush through your hair without damaging it. It’s also specifically made for brushing your hair while wet.

What are your hair essentials? Let me know in the comments below!

My Review: Irresistible Me Hair Extensions

1

Hair extensions have always been something I was curious to try. You see tons of celebrities rocking gorgeous long locks and can’t help but think “I can have that kind of hair, right?” Right. When Irresistible Me reached out to me to see if I wanted to test out their hair extensions I jumped at the opportunity. I was sent a set of their Silky Touch extensions in the color Silky Chocolate Brown. I was a little nervous about the color matching my hair. Since I have highlights, the extensions ended up matching my roots perfectly not but quite the ends. The length I chose was 22″ – 200g ($209). I figured it would be better to get longer and cut them if need be rather than vice versa. At first when I received the extensions I thought the length was a little too long, but once I clipped them into my hair I realized they were the perfect length. As for color, after testing out the extensions I realized that curling both my hair and the extensions helped them to blend perfectly.

The set comes with 10 pieces, 1 pc of 4 clips (7.5″), 2 pcs of 3 clips (6″), 5 pcs of 2 clips (4″), 2 pcs of 1 clip (1.2″). I ended up using all the extensions minus the 2 1 clips and 2 of the 2 clips. They give you A LOT of hair to work with, which is great.

Here is a before and after picture of what I look like with the extensions.

before

The extensions made a dramatic difference in how my hair looked. I used to think I had long hair until I saw what I looked like with extensions in! I have to say, I’m absolutely in love with these extensions. The hair is 100% Remy human hair and feels so soft and silky. The clip ins make them extremely easy to take on and off.

My roommate (who is a hair genius) also did this cute fishtail braid with my extensions in. The length really makes the braid stand out!

Overall, I’m extremely impressed with these Irresistible Me hair extensions. If you are looking to try some hair extensions. Definitely go check out Irresistible Me. They have a variety of hair colors and lengths to choose from. Have you guys ever tried extensions? Let me know in the comments below what you think!

Korean Beauty Haul: Eyes

FullSizeRender (2)[Top to Bottom, Left to Right] Etude House Eyelash Curler // Shiseido Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara // Etude House Oh My Eye Lash Mascara // Etude House Lash Perm Mascara // Clio Pen Liner Kill Black //  Etude House Drawing Eye Brow // Etude House Princess Lashes 02

While I was in Korea, my friend Jenna reached out to me on Instagram saying that she was also in Korea at the time. We decided to meet up for brunch in her town. After brunch, Jenna decided to show me around the market area where we did a little shopping. I had told Jenna about all the makeup I was purchasing and she asked if I tried Lash King. I told her I hadn’t so we ran to the drugstore and I picked up the mascara. Jenna had said it was her favorite mascara that she has tried so far in Korea, and I’m excited to try it out! Unlike the other products I purchased, this was the only non-Korean makeup that I got. So far I’ve tried the Clio Pen liner and the Eye Brow pencil from Etude House and I’m OBSESSED with them both. Can’t wait to try the rest of these goodies out!

Korean Beauty Haul: Lips

Image-1 (2)[Right to Left] Innisfree Eco Flower Tint Balm in Rose // Banila Co. Kiss Collector Lip Crayon in OR02 (Honey) // Etude House Dear Darling Tint in 02 (Real Red)

As you all know, I took a family vacation to Korea the other week. My favorite part (besides seeing family) was the shopping. I was extremely excited to take advantage of all the beauty boutiques in Korea. I did my research and made a list of different brands I wanted to check out. I ended up purchasing quite a few amount of beauty products, so I’ve decided to split the posts up.

First up: lips. Now I actually purchased another lipgloss, but I’ve seemed to have lost it somewhere along the travels…and I’m hoping it turns up soon. Out of the three above, I’m definitely loving the Innisfree lipstick the best. It has one of the creamist lip formula I have ever tried. They remind me of the Revlon Lip Butters, but creamier. The best part about Korean makeup was the price. These lip products ranged from $4-$14. For drugstore prices, I was shocked at how great the quality was.

Current Skincare Routine

Image-1 (1)

I’m a huge proponent of skincare, but I try to keep it simple…mostly because I’m lazy. There are two key factors I take into account when it comes to my skincare routine; Moisture and SPF. I have normal to dry skin, so I need all the help I can get to keep my skin from flaking off. SPF is also a huge factor, I try to make sure that I put some sort of SPF on my face every morning because no one wants wrinkles. Here are the products that I use both in the morning, and at night.
