Summer Staples

Summer is here in full swing. Is it just me or does it never actually feel like summer since we don’t have summer breaks anymore? Not to mention, I live in California where it’s summer all year long. Although the weather is pretty much always sunny in LA, it has been quite warm out lately. I love this Reformation dress for a simple summer outfit. I picked up this dress a few months ago during a sample sale Reformation had. Although this dress is no longer in stock, Reformation has a ton of other dresses in this lovely cloth-like fabric. This fabric is perfect for summer because it’s super lightweight. I love this dress and this one, they are both similar to the dress I’m wearing here.

Another trend I’m obsessing over for summer is tassels. Give me tassels everything. These earrings from BaubleBar are my newest obsession. I also found this super cute bag from Revolve. It’s got the same cloth-like material as the Reformation dress and is perfect for summer. This bag gives me serious tropical vacation beach vibes, and it makes me want to go to paradise like now. Speaking of paradise, who else is excited for Bachelor in Paradise to start next Monday?? If you’re planning on watching let me know in the comments below!

Currently I am sitting at about 33,000 feet up in the air. I’m taking a quick trip to NY to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday this week. I’m excited to go back and visit all of my family and friends in the east coast. There’s nothing better than a little vacation and a quick R&R to amp up your week. I packed this entire outfit sans the shoes to bring with me to NY. I’m obsessed with this white blouse by Show Me Your Mumu. It’s flowy and the back adds a little drama with the low cut. This sailor collar from BaubleBar is also a new favorite. It adds the perfect amount of edge to an outfit. I will definitely be wearing this outfit again at some point this week.

There’s something about hot pink that just instantly puts a smile on my face. That being said, when I found out there was a giant pink wall on Melrose, I just had to take a trip. Victoria, our friend Becca and I went for an impromptu photo shoot last weekend (see Vic’s post here!). Melrose is definitely one of my favorite streets in LA. Not only is it known for the 90210 spin-off, it’s also an amazing place for shopping and food. If you’re ever in the LA area definitely go check out this iconic spot at the Paul Smith store on Melrose.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend exploring the beautiful town of Coronado, a little island located across the bay from San Diego. North Beach is hands down the most gorgeous beach I have ever been to (and dog friendly!). You can see for miles and miles past the horizon. The water was even warm enough to go in, and considering the East Coast is covered in snow, that’s quite a feat. On our last day in Coronado, while we wandered down Orange Ave., we came across this cute little flower shop, so naturally we had an impromptu photoshoot. Overall, it was a great weekend filled with family, friends, and food! For those of you who have never been, I’d definitely recommend making the trip!
